Paragon raced in memory of Tanya Novarese, a beloved team member who passed away in December 2008 after fighting cancer for over a year. Through various fundraising activities, including an internal “Penny War,” sale of luminarias, and sale of refreshments at the event, the Paragon team was able to raise $1,738 for Relay for Life, well over the $1,000 goal.
The theme of this year’s Relay for Life was “Lights! Camera! Relay!” and teams were tasked with decorating their tents in the style of a favorite movie. Paragon named Tracey Wilson, the VP-Controller, the committee chair, and she and her 10 person committee chose one of Tanya’s favorite Disney films, “A Bug’s Life,” as their theme. The Paragon tent was swarming with characters from the movie in the form of large painted cardboard bugs.
